About Career Compass
Career Compass helps students see the job before they pick the education that leads to it. Every role on the site is broken down the same way: an hour-by-hour day, the skills that actually get used, the study route in your country, and a fifteen-year pay curve instead of a single starting-salary number.
Why it exists
Most young people choose a programme from a course catalogue: a title, a list of modules and a credit count. Almost none of that describes the work itself. Angelica Lundqvist started Career Compass after watching students in her own circle commit three to five years and significant tuition to a field they had never seen anybody do for a single working day.
The site answers the questions people actually ask at seventeen: what will I do between nine and five, will I be alone or on a team, can I do it in English if I move abroad, what do I earn in year one and in year fifteen, and where do I apply?
How we build the content
Every career profile is authored in-house from national statistics offices, collective agreement pay scales, public sector salary tables, employer job postings and published labour-market forecasts, then reviewed and edited by a human before it goes live. Salary figures are modelled as gross monthly pay and converted between the 36 supported countries with a documented method you can read on our methodology page.
Language tools and drafting assistance are used in production, the same way a newsroom uses a CMS. Nothing is published without editorial review, and every figure carries the context needed to judge it.
How it is funded
Career Compass is free for students. It is paid for by advertising and sponsored placements, which are always labelled as such. Advertisers have no influence over which careers we cover, the salary figures we publish, or the schools and portals we recommend. We do not take commission for sending applicants to a specific institution.
